• In the comments to a March 6, 2005, Ulterior Epicure post, the Ulterior Epicure has an exchange with a University of Michigan law student in which the law student refers to a mutual acquaintance with the understanding that the Ulterior Epicure is also a law student:

(Ulterior Epicure): "what program of study are you pursuing in ann arbor?"

(Anonymous): "jd (i’m denise’s classmate)"

(Ulterior Epicure): "lawyer-to-be… i don’t envy you… sorry…"

(Anonymous): "Are you not in the law school yourself?"

(Ulterior Epicure): "sorry, no answers on my occupation."

• On March 23, 2005, Ulterior Epicure joins a blog discussion about reasons for applying for "law review" in law school.

• On April 7, 2005, Ulterior Epicure takes a detour on his food blog to discuss a study about clinical stress and depression in law students.

• Ulterior Epicure is listed on a law blog roll along with ten other blogs from University of Michigan law students.

• In 2008, Ulterior Epicure hosts a "Dentist and Attorney Dinner" in which he cooks traditional Chinese dishes.
