Clue #5: Polsinelli Shalton Welte Suelthaus

The Career Services web site for the University of Michigan Law School provides a list of law firms hiring the school's graduates from 2005-2007, broken down by city and state. No Kansas law firms hired University of Michigan Law School graduates during that period. Only one Kansas City, Missouri, law firm hired from the school: Polsinelli Shalton Welte Suelthaus PC.

In January of 2007, the name of the firm changed to Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus PC, after David Welte left the firm and Daniel Flanigan was made a named partner, which means the University of Michigan Law School graduate(s) would have come from the class of 2005 or 2006 (i.e., the year the Ulterior Epicure graduated law school). (The firm subsequently merged with another in late 2008 and is now Polsinelli Shughart PC.)
